Elvis Presley Stamp ©1993 U.S.P.S.

The Elvis Presley Stamp still holds the title of the best selling commemorative stamp at 500 million with 124 million saved by collectors. It was also the first postage stamp to be chosen by the public after a national pole of the "young" vs. "old" Elvis. Over a million ballots were cast and the "young" Elvis won by a two thirds margin.
The original artwork has hung at Graceland in Memphis, TN, The Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, MA, The National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C. and it's permanent home in the U.S. Postage Stamp Museum, Washington, D.C.

A little known fact is that the original artwork is a mere 5" x 7" which was dictated by the U.S.P.S. for most commemorative commissions. It also earned the Postal Service billions in stamp sales, balloting postage and licensing of related products.
